The Triconex 3611E Supervised Digital Output (SDO) Module is an 8-point output interface engineered for high-integrity Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS). It is designed for applications where output states may remain static for extended periods but must respond reliably and fault-tolerantly when commanded.

The module features a quadruplicated output switch architecture with mechanical power relays, using voting from three independent processing channels to ensure continuous safe operation. Integrated voltage and current loopback supervision continuously monitors switch health, field wiring integrity, and load presence. This enables detection of complex faults including loss of power, open/missing loads, blown fuses, and field shorts, maintaining the safety loop’s integrity under all conditions.
