Overview

A Tricon chassis accommodates three Main Processor Modules, each responsible for one channel (or leg) of the controller. Each processor communicates independently with its I/O subsystem and executes the control program autonomously. The three MP Modules regularly compare data and control programs, functioning without shared clocks, power regulators, or circuitry. Detailed specifications for each Main Processor can be found in the specifications table.

Models 3006 and 3007 are compatible with Tricon systems ranging from v9.0 to v9.5.x. Both models share the same architecture and specifications, differing only in SRAM capacity: the 3006 features 2 megabytes, while the 3007 has 1 megabyte.
