The ADV141 is a high-voltage digital input module designed for Yokogawa CENTUM VP and CS 3000 control systems. Unlike standard 24 V DC input modules, the ADV141 directly interfaces with 100–120 V AC field signals, eliminating the need for interposing relays when monitoring AC-powered equipment.

With 16 fully isolated input channels and high dielectric strength, the module provides reliable signal conditioning while protecting the control system from voltage transients commonly found in power distribution and utility environments.

Why is the response time as long as 160 ms?
AC inputs require internal filtering and rectification to distinguish true ON states from zero-crossing transitions inherent to 50/60 Hz waveforms. The 160 ms response time ensures stable status detection without false switching.

How are the commons arranged on the ADV141?
The 16 inputs are grouped with shared commons. Due to the high-voltage nature of the signals, the module provides 1.35 kV AC isolation between common groups to prevent cross-interference and maintain electrical integrity.

Can the ADV141 be used for 220–240 V AC signals?
No. The ADV141 is strictly rated for 100–120 V AC. For 220–240 V AC applications, the ADV142 module must be used to ensure proper detection thresholds and component safety.
