The ProSoft MVI56-GSC module is designed to add two fully configurable serial communication ports to Rockwell Automation ControlLogix processors. It enables communication with devices using ASCII-based serial protocols, including Modbus ASCII and Allen-Bradley DF1, without occupying the processor’s front port or consuming valuable CPU time.
Each port supports sending and receiving large ASCII character strings, making it ideal for applications such as barcode readers, printers, weigh scales, and legacy PLCs. The module installs as a single-slot backplane-compatible unit, simplifying integration into existing ControlLogix systems.
