Overview

The PACSystems™ RX3i CPE330 is a high-performance programmable controller CPU designed to handle demanding applications. It features 64 MB of built-in program memory and two independent high-speed Ethernet interfaces, making it ideal for multi-tier communications and large data synchronization. The unit’s metal housing ensures superior noise immunity. The CPE330 is programmed and configured over Ethernet using PAC Machine Edition™ (PME) software, and it resides in the RX3i main rack, supporting up to 32K I/O points.

• Hot Standby Redundancy:

  • RX3i Hot Standby Redundancy CPU with support for PROFINET® I/O.
  • Embedded PROFINET Controller or IC695PNC001 PROFINET Controllers.
  • Hot Standby Redundancy with Ethernet (EGD) & Genius I/O.

• PROFINET I/O Controller:

  • Simplex PROFINET I/O Controller.
  • Supports up to 32 I/O devices with update rates from 1ms to 512ms.
  • I/O device update rates of 8ms or faster possible with 16 or fewer devices.
  • For more than 16 devices, update rates of 16ms or higher are available.

• Ethernet Support:

  • Two independent 10/100/1000 Ethernet LANs.
  • LAN1 attaches via the dedicated (upper) RJ-45 connector.
  • LAN2 attaches via the lower pair of internally-switched RJ-45 connectors.

• Communications and Certifications:

  • Achilles Level 2 Communications Certification.
  • Secure firmware update: Controller authenticates new firmware before installation and continues using the current version if non-authentic firmware is detected.

• Ethernet Interface Processing:

  • Dedicated microprocessor core for embedded Ethernet interface.
  • Supports up to:
    • 48 simultaneous SRTP Server connections.
    • 16 simultaneous Modbus®/TCP Server connections.
    • 32 clients (SRTP or Modbus/SRTP).
    • OPC UA Server: Up to 5 concurrent sessions with 10 concurrent variable subscriptions and up to 12,500 variables.
    • 255 simultaneous Class 1 Ethernet Global Data (EGD) exchanges.
    • Two independent Redundant IP addresses, one for each Ethernet LAN.

• Time Synchronization:

  • Embedded SNTP Client for synchronization of the high-resolution Time of Day Clock to an SNTP network time server.

• Power Loss Protection:

  • Optional Energy Pack (IC695ACC402) for instant saving of user memory to non-volatile storage in the event of power loss.

• Data Transfer and Communication:

  • Supports USB 2.0 A-type Removable Data Storage Devices (RDSDs) for transferring user programs/data.
  • HART® Pass Through: Allows communication of HART asset management data between HART-capable I/O modules and PC-based asset management tools (requires additional HART-compatible products).
  • Supports the Remote Get HART Device Information COMMREQ, enabling user applications to read information from HART devices connected to RX3i Analog modules.
