The Triconex 3101 Main Processor Module serves as the central processing unit for Triconex fault-tolerant safety systems, delivering high-integrity control for mission-critical industrial environments. Built on dual Motorola MPC860 32-bit processors, the module separates application processing (SX) and I/O processing (IOX), ensuring deterministic execution of safety logic and reliable system communication.
Equipped with Flash PROM, DRAM, and NVRAM, the 3101 provides secure storage and execution of control programs, sequence-of-events (SOE) data, and retentive variables. A shared memory architecture and HDLC-based diagnostic bus enable efficient data exchange between processors and I/O modules, while CRC protection and byte parity ensure robust data integrity.
Operating on 24 VDC logic power with an extended voltage tolerance, the 3101 is well suited for harsh industrial applications such as oil & gas, chemical processing, and power generation, where continuous operation and functional safety are essential.
