Foxboro FBMSLT Fieldbus Module
The Foxboro FBMSLT is a fieldbus communication module designed for the Foxboro I/A Series Distributed Control System (DCS). It provides signal interfacing and segment management for up to eight FOUNDATION Fieldbus H1 network segments, integrating field devices into central DCS control configurations.
Fieldbus Segment Management and Fault Isolation
The FBMSLT module incorporates individual power conditioning and current limiting for each of its eight H1 segments. Galvanic isolation across all segments prevents ground faults or electrical disturbances on one field loop from propagating to adjacent channels or upper-level control hardware.
When paired with F80x series power modules, automatic termination is maintained on each fieldbus line. The module also supports real-time network health diagnostics and physical layer monitoring through the addition of an optional F809F-Plus diagnostic module.
