The MTL5514 Switch/Proximity Detector Interface enables a switch or NAMUR proximity detector located in a Zone 0/Div.1 hazardous area to safely control a load in the safe area. It achieves this by isolating the hazardous-area input and driving a relay output.
The module incorporates Line Fault Detection (LFD) to identify open or short circuits on input wiring, with faults signaled through a separate relay and LED indicators. Additionally, phase reversal switches allow engineers to configure whether the output relay is energized or de-energized depending on the sensor state.
