Overview

Select I/O is an Ethernet-networked, single-channel granular I/O system designed for the ABB Ability™ System 800xA automation platform. It helps streamline project tasks, reduce the impact of late-stage changes, and promote standardization of I/O cabinets, ensuring automation projects are completed on time and within budget. The Signal Conditioning Module (SCM) is a key component that provides signal conditioning and powers the connected field device for each I/O channel.

The CI845 Ethernet Fieldbus Communication Interface Module (FCI) manages communication between the S800 I/O or Select I/O and the AC 800M controllers. In redundant configurations, two CI845 modules are required and must be installed in the TU860 or TU865 Ethernet Field Communication Interface MTUs for optimal performance.
